Dallas Luxury Relocation Guide: Highland Park, University Park, Turtle Creek, Bluffview and Preston Hollow
Amy Jacobs, REALTOR®, guides luxury relocation to Highland Park, University Park, Turtle Creek, Bluffview and Preston Hollow, with Olympic-level concierge service.
Why This Corner of Dallas Is Its Own Search
Highland Park, University Park, Turtle Creek, Bluffview, and Preston Hollow sit within a few miles of each other, and each one is a different way to live in Dallas. A map search blends them together. Amy Jacobs, REALTOR® with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty Texas, separates them for you, and she brings Olympic-level concierge service to every luxury relocation she guides.
Amy has guided relocating buyers since 2012. This guide is the starting point she gives buyers moving to Dallas from another state or country, before the first showing is planned.
The Park Cities: Highland Park and University Park
The Park Cities are the Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park. Both are served by Highland Park ISD, so for a relocating family the address decides the school district. Amy Jacobs confirms the district and the attendance boundary for every property before you write an offer, and she never ranks or recommends schools. She helps you research them.
Most homes here sell quietly, often before they are ever listed. If a Park Cities address or an off-market estate is the goal, tell Amy early so she can start that conversation.
Turtle Creek: High-Rise Living Beside the Park
Turtle Creek is the Dallas answer for a buyer who wants a high-rise residence close to Uptown and downtown. Amy Jacobs walks relocating buyers through the buildings one at a time, including floor plans, views, and what each building offers, so a video tour from another state or country tells you what you need to know.
Bluffview and Preston Hollow: Estates and Gated Compounds
Preston Hollow is known for estate-scale homes, and along Strait Lane, Park Lane, and Inwood Road there are private compounds behind their own gates, and Glen Abbey is a guard-gated community in Preston Hollow. Amy Jacobs has driven these streets and knows which properties sit behind which gates. Bluffview is its own neighborhood nearby, and Amy Jacobs covers it alongside Preston Hollow.
Gates, lot size, and privacy are the questions that matter here. Amy answers each of them for every home you consider, on video before you travel.
Private Schools and Private Clubs
Public school district lines matter here, and so do the private options. Several well-known private schools sit in and around Preston Hollow, including The Hockaday School, St. Mark's School of Texas, Ursuline Academy of Dallas, and Jesuit College Preparatory School. Alcuin School, at 6144 Churchill Way, is one of the largest and most prominent accredited Montessori schools in the United States. Lakehill Preparatory School is a large campus in Lakewood, near White Rock Lake. Dallas International School has a Churchill Way campus for early childhood through 4th grade and a Waterview Parkway campus for grades 5 through 12, near Richardson. It teaches through French and English immersion and offers the French Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate diploma.
Amy Jacobs knows the school situation in Dallas firsthand. She has toured these schools in person, along with the vast majority of schools across the metroplex, and she has real experience guiding relocating families through each school they are considering, from the first tour to the home search that follows the school they choose. Amy helps you map any school you are considering to the homes near it. She does not rank or recommend schools. She suggests you call each admissions office early, because private school timelines run on their own calendar.
Dallas Country Club is in Highland Park, and the area's private clubs are invitation only. Amy Jacobs can talk through how that works for a relocating buyer.
How Amy Jacobs Helps Families Choose a School
Families ask Amy Jacobs what is best for their children. The honest answer is that every family has a different idea of what a school should look like, so Amy does not recommend one. She gives you the list of schools most families in that city choose from, and she sends you to each school district and each school's own information to see what the school is about. Amy also tells every family that she cannot guarantee admission to any school, public or private.
Private schools work the same way, because every family is different. Some families want an all-girls school, some want an all-boys school, and many want Dallas International School so their children can learn two or three languages. Some families want a true Montessori education. In Texas the word Montessori is not protected, so a school using it may or may not follow the full method. Alcuin School is accredited as a Montessori school and recognized by Association Montessori Internationale, which is why Amy points families to it. In Colleyville, Waypoint Montessori is a true Montessori school for children through 6th grade, on a wooded campus, and Amy has toured it and placed a family there. After years of touring schools with relocating families, she knows which questions to ask on a tour.
Getting to the Airports
For a buyer who travels, the airports matter. From Highland Park, Dallas Love Field is about 15 minutes away and DFW Airport is about 35 minutes. Amy Jacobs plans the drive from each home you consider, so you know the real trip before you decide.
